Here is an update on another awareness session conducted by STC-India education team at Dronacharya College, Greater Noida, on Sep 28th, 2013. . Event Update

After seven successful events in Delhi-NCR based engineering and management colleges this year, STC India Education team travelled all the way from Gurgaon to reach Dronacharya college on time. STC-India team was greeted by Prof Ashwani, HODs, and Prof. Murali (director of the college).
After having coffee with STC-India team, Prof Murali accompanied them to the auditorium. The session started around 10.40 am with a formal opening ceremony by the director. More than 90 students, HODs and many faculty members were present even on the non-working day. Rajeev Jain started the session with:
· Introduction to STC and Technical Writing
· Importance of Technical Communication
Rajeev shared examples of famous Bollywood movies like Bhag Milkha and 3-idiots. As expected, not many students were aware of technical communication or technical writing but still many students showed keen interest in this profession. During the session, many faculty encouraged the students to open up and make best use of the interactive session.
Many faculty members showed keep interest in this profession. During the interactive session, students asked many questions such as:
1. How they can start career in this field.
2. From where they can get more information about this profession.
Session lasted for almost 2 hours. During lunch, HODs, placement team, and the Director of the college wanted to know how STC-India team can help them to start the course are their college. They also informed that, MTU (Mahamaya Technical University) has already introduced “Technical Communication” paper this year.
Feedback
The college management shared instant feedback and informed us that most of the students and faculty members liked the session. Most of the HODs and faculty members wanted similar session on weekdays for the students of their respective streams (including MBA and MCA).
